As a 53 year old black guy, I have been surrounded by white people and their values and rhetoric for all my life. My father was a 30 year member of the Army and so there were many stretches of my early life when I was always surrounded by whites. I now live in Northern Virginia… and it is practically ALL white and Spanish speaking Caucasians up here, with a tiny sprinkling of other ethnicities mixed in. You can believe me when I say this… these other ethnicities do not identify with the American Black person experience. No, they immediately emulate the white way of existence!
I am watching Morning Joe on MSNBC right now. This show is obviously bent toward Republicans because of Joe Scarborough, who is a deep southern white man who occasional lets everybody know where he comes fro to put everyone in their places. Hey, he is Republican and this is his show. But, as I look at this panel, as usual, it is manned by wealthy to very well paid white people who are white in every way they act, think and appear. And, their values are not mine.
I could change the channel and watch FOX, but my head would explode from increased blood pressure as the FOXES wash the feet of the Republicans before hand feeding them polished purple Muscadine grapes and massaging their temples and backs as they tell the Republicans how much they love them and their “make us richer” policies!
Jeb Bush was just asked by the Morning Joe Republicans about the Republican’s reaching out to minorities. With a wry smile on his face, Bush named about six Spanish heritage Caucasians as the culture additions to the Republicans. Not one black person was on his list, not one black person is on the panel and not one black person is in the audience in the background.
People… America does not look like this picture, outside of a fancy restaurant or a pristine studio. America doesn’t look like what I deal with on a daily basis in this recession proof part of Northern Virginia, either.
White people, when you look at these shows that are stocked with whites only… you better realize that what you are looking at is all illusion presented to you to get your vote for the white people in power… who do not give a damn about you and your not-wealthy life.
And black people… well, if you allow Condoleezza Rice to mesmerize you into believing that she, one of about three blacks who have been given ANY presence at this Republican convention, represents you… then you are completely delusional. Rice is an educator… and she might actually want education fixed in this country. But she is a maximum player in the Bush White House of death and destruction. She might be an evil bitch deep inside her heart!
I want white people and black people, and everyone else, to live the American dream. Whose American dream? Now, that is the question, isn’t it. The American dream from 1950’s Wisconsin scares the hell out of me… because there were no blacks involved in that Fallout 3 Tranquility Lane-like Virtual Reality Simulation that actually turns out to be the worse nightmare scenario in this video game.
Where are the black people, Republicans? You should be ashamed of yourselves!
